December/2025

Leadership Team

Dear Teachers, Parents, and Beloved Students,

December arrives with the warmth of sharing and kindness - a time for us to look back on our journey and appreciate the small yet meaningful connections in our lives. In this spirit, the school is pleased to share this month’s educational message: “Care.”

Care does not begin with grand gestures; it is nurtured through simple, everyday actions: a gentle hug when a child arrives at school, a kind question after playtime, or a quiet moment listening to a child share what made them happy or worried. When children feel genuine care, they learn to care in return - for their friends, teachers, families, and the world around them.

At school, we encourage students to express care through small acts, such as sharing toys, helping a friend pick up a dropped item, or cleaning up together after class. These simple experiences build the foundation for compassion and the ability to understand the feelings of others.

Teaching children to care is not about expecting them to always be “good” or “give in,” but about helping them recognize emotions, express empathy, and choose kind actions. When children feel cared for by adults, they naturally pass that kindness on, creating a warm and meaningful learning environment.

We believe that a simple question, a supportive gesture, or a moment of sincere listening can have a profound impact on a child’s heart. And when families and the school join hands to nurture care each day, we are laying the first bricks in raising individuals who love, share, and act with kindness.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with parents to create a truly “warm” December - a month in which every child feels cared for, valued, and supported by a loving community.

Sincerely,
The School Leadership Team

PARENT SHARING CORNER: “CARE -
THE GREATEST GIFT FOR YOUR CHILD”

December - the season of love and giving.
Among all the gifts parents can offer their children, there is one that needs no box, no ribbon, yet remains the most precious of all: wholehearted care.

In the busyness of daily life, what children truly need is sometimes just:
A hug right after school
A simple question: “What made you happiest today?”
A quiet moment sitting together - no phones, no rush

Just like that, your child already feels: “Mom and Dad are here for me, listening to me, and truly caring about me.”

Wishing all parents and children a warm December filled with meaningful moments of connection and love.

3 MINUTES OF LOVE A DAY FOR YOUR CHILD

Parents may not always have a lot of time.
But sometimes… just 3 minutes is enough to fill a child’s heart with love.

Those 3 minutes can be:
- A tight hug when your child wakes up
- Sitting beside them while they play
- Telling a very short story
- Looking into their eyes and saying, “I love you”

Small moments - but full of care.
Short - yet building lasting connection.

Start today, parents - you’ll be surprised at how much magic just 3 little minutes can bring.

WHEN CHILDREN “LEARN THROUGH PLAY - PLAY TO LEARN”

At school, learning activities are always designed through games and real-life experiences.
For young children, play is the most natural and effective way to learn.

Today, our students:
- Explored colors through creative art activities
- Discovered science with simple experiments
- Strengthened their thinking skills through sorting and puzzle games
- Learned to share and cooperate in groups

What makes us happiest is seeing the children excited, confident, and full of energy in every moment.
Learning becomes truly enjoyable when children can do - touch - and explore every day!

CARING FOR CHILDREN’S HEALTH DURING SEASONAL CHANGES

The transition from autumn to winter is a time when children are more prone to respiratory illnesses, colds, and sore throats. Therefore, taking care of their health at home and at school is extremely important.

The school recommends that parents:
- Ensure children have a balanced and nutritious diet to strengthen their immunity.
- Keep children warm, especially when going outside or during sudden temperature changes.
- Encourage frequent handwashing, maintain personal hygiene, and teach children healthy habits.
- Monitor children’s health daily, ensure adequate rest, and inform teachers if they show signs of fatigue or illness.

At school, we continue to enhance classroom hygiene, check students’ temperatures, monitor their health, and combine appropriate outdoor activities so that children can play while maintaining their fitness.

Let’s work together with the school to protect children’s health and help them learn and play safely during this seasonal transition!

HIGHLIGHT SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Little bouquets, adorable performances, and radiant photos with their teachers - this is how the little Wolves send their sweet gratitude to their teachers on November 20th. Small gestures, yet full of heartfelt affection, serving as a thank-you to those who always accompany and support them every day.

LITTLE WOLVES APPRECIATE THEIR TEACHERS

At the preschool age, character education doesn’t come only from a teacher’s words - it also comes from experiences where children try, explore, and accomplish things on their own.

With the theme of November - Perseverance, our little Wolves continue to nurture Body - Mind - Heart through activities such as watching the play “The Tortoise and the Hare” and participating in outdoor challenges: the Courage Race, the Adventure of Challenges, and the Hardworking Ant Race. Each challenge helps children build endurance and a “never give up” spirit. At the same time, activities like tower building, tangram, and tearing paper to make flowers for their teachers encourage focus and perseverance to complete tasks to the very end.

Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK believes that these small yet meaningful moments lay the foundation for children to develop a habit of perseverance, the value of effort, and appreciation for hard work.

WHEN LITTLE STORIES ARE BRING TO LIFE BY OUR LITTLE WOLVES

On those little pages, the world of the children slowly unfolds - their beloved families, memorable trips, and tiny dreams written in tender handwriting and bright, innocent colors.

Through the process of creating, drawing, and presenting their own books, students develop confidence, emotional expression, and a sense of responsibility for their work. Listening to and sharing stories with friends also nurtures empathy and respect for differences, essential characteristics along their growing journey.

Every little book they produce is more than just a learning artifact; it is a mark of their development, a celebration of curiosity, and a reflection of a love for learning nurtured every day. This is how Sedbergh Vietnam integrates Creative Expression, one of the seven areas of learning and development at Sedbergh Vietnam.

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK Book week, every activity is thoughtfully designed around the play-based learning approach, helping children develop their reading and writing skills in a natural, joyful, and engaging way.

Through stories, games, and creative exploration, young learners not only discover the beauty of language but also build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading and learning.

From the teacher’s captivating storytelling and the cheerful laughter during the “Guess the Story” game, to the sparkling eyes watching the lively puppet shows, and the excitement of exploring the colorful handmade books - each moment lit up the children’s hearts with a love for books and the magical world of words.

As Book Day came to a close, the adventure in every child’s heart continued on. For every page turned and every story shared today will forever plant the seeds of imagination and a lifelong love of learning.

FROM LITTLE PAGES TO BIG DISCOVERIES – WHERE YOUR CHILD’S MAGICAL JOURNEY BEGINS

EVERY DANCE STEP - A STEP TOWARD YOUR CHILD’S HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT

Dancing to the rhythm of music is not only a source of joy for children, but also a “golden touch” that nurtures physical development, cognitive growth, and social connections for children aged 3–6.

Research shows that through dance activities, children develop fine and gross motor skills, learn to coordinate their bodies with rhythm, and maintain balance. They also become more confident in expressing themselves and improve their social cooperation skills when participating in group dances (Lobo & Winsler, 2006). In addition, memorizing movement sequences, musical rhythms, and following task instructions helps children strengthen their focus, memory, and emotional regulation (Shen et al., 2020).

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, dance lessons are part of the Talent Development Programme, where children are encouraged to explore their creativity, enjoy movement, listen to their bodies, and feel the rhythm through every motion. These experiences not only strengthen their physical abilities but also nurture their thinking, imagination, and confidence - becoming essential foundations for their future learning journey.

CIRCLE TIME - THE EMOTIONAL WARM-UP
OF THE DAY AT SEDBERGH VIETNAM - CVK

Activities such as moving to music, listening to teachers’ questions, and sharing feelings help children focus, self-regulate their emotions, and develop communication and language skills (according to Roding & Che Mustafa, 2022 and Frontiers in Education, 2024). At the same time, participating in daily Circle Time helps children build social skills, feel a sense of belonging, gain confidence and security, and develop positive relationships with teachers and peers (according to Denham & Burton, 2014).

More than just a simple morning greeting or the moment when teachers take attendance, Morning Circle Time at Wolf House is designed as a “start-of-day” moment, helping children greet the new day with joy and a readiness to explore new things.

The Little Wolves had a lively morning as they lined up to visit the doctor for their regular health check. Some children were excited, flashing big smiles to greet the doctor, while others felt shy and even cried a little. But after a few gentle words of guidance, they quickly became more confident.

This activity is very important to ensure that the children meet the necessary health requirements to participate in learning throughout the school year. Specifically, the doctors and nurses conducted a general check-up, including blood pressure, respiration, heart health, and hand-foot-and-mouth disease screening.

In addition, regular health checks help the school and parents keep track of the children’s current health status, while also encouraging the little ones to care for their bodies and feel comfortable around healthcare staff - showing them that visiting the doctor is not scary at all, but can actually be a fun experience.
