February 2026

Message from Leadership Team

Dear Teachers, Parents, and Beloved Students,

Following a positive and optimistic start to the year in January, as we enter February, the school invites our community to shift our focus toward a foundational and enduring value: integrity.

In the early years, integrity is not taught through abstract concepts but nurtured through everyday actions - telling the truth when mistakes are made, taking responsibility, waiting one’s turn, keeping promises, and showing respect for others. With appropriate guidance and positive role modelling from adults, children gradually develop a strong sense of honesty and right and wrong from within.

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, we prioritise creating a safe and supportive learning environment where children feel comfortable expressing their emotions, are encouraged to speak honestly without fear, and are guided to take age-appropriate responsibility. The consistency, fairness, and authenticity demonstrated by adults serve as a moral compass for children’s choices and behaviours.

We believe that when families and the school work in partnership to nurture integrity, children develop a strong character foundation, enabling them to make ethical choices, act with kindness, and respect themselves and others.

Integrity is a core value that builds trust, shapes character, and supports children as they grow. We shall begin with small, meaningful actions, starting today.

NEWS &
UPDATES

TẾT MUÔN MÀU - EVERY MOMENT FILLED WITH LOVE

Tết is not just the transition to a new year; it is a vibrant world of emotions, sounds, and experiences. It’s the red of lucky money envelopes, the yellow of apricot and peach blossoms, the familiar scent of traditional cakes, and the warm moments of family reunions.

Each child experiences Tết in their own way. Some are excited by new experiences, while others may feel shy about the changes in their daily routine. Therefore, Tết doesn’t need to be overly lively for children; it just needs to be safe, loving, and attentive, allowing them to feel joy at their own pace.

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, we aim to bring a "Tết Muôn Màu" through simple yet meaningful activities: exploring Tết traditions, experiencing colors, music, stories, and the values passed down in a language that resonates with children.

We believe that when families and schools work together, each child will celebrate Tết in the most fulfilling way - where joy comes from care, understanding, and peaceful moments with loved ones.

"Tết Muôn Màu" is not only brightened by the colors of spring but also warmed by the love that is sown into every day of the new year.

STAYING HEALTHY THROUGH SMALL THINGS
PREVENTING ROTAVIRUS

For young children, a healthy digestive system is the foundation for playing, learning, and growing every day. Among the threats to their health, Rotavirus is a common cause of acute diarrhea in children, easily spread and can significantly impact their well-being if not prevented properly.

Preventing illness starts with the proactive involvement of adults. Early vaccination against Rotavirus is a crucial first step, helping to reduce the risk of illness and limiting dangerous complications. Alongside this, daily habits such as washing hands thoroughly, eating cooked food, and keeping children's utensils and toys clean serve as the most reliable “shield” for their health.

A clean living environment, access to safe drinking water, and a balanced diet - especially breastfeeding during the early years - will enhance children’s natural immunity. Avoiding crowded places during sensitive times also contributes to reducing the risk of gastrointestinal infections.

Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK believes that when families and schools work together to care for health through these small practices, children will grow up strong, safe, and confident to explore the world every day.

SAFE MEALS - A JOYFUL TẾT REUNION

A fulfilling Tết season begins not only with the joy of reunion but also with safe and healthy meals every day. When children are properly cared for during their meals, they have enough energy to play, explore, and fully enjoy the festive atmosphere of the new year.

During Tết, food is often prepared in larger quantities, stored for longer periods, and reused across multiple meals. A small mistake in hygiene, preparation, or storage can increase the risk of food poisoning, especially for young children whose digestive systems are still developing.

From familiar habits like eating cooked food and drinking boiled water to washing hands before meals, separating raw and cooked foods, and choosing ingredients with clear origins while thoroughly reheating meals, every small action by adults contributes to protecting children’s health.

Our school believes that when families and schools work together to cultivate safe eating habits, children will enjoy a peaceful, healthy, and joyful Tết - a solid foundation for a positive and fulfilling new year ahead.

INTEGRITY - FINDING PEACE IN BEING YOURSELF

Integrity doesn’t stem from grand teachings; it originates from the sense of peace that comes when each person can be themselves. When a child understands they can express their thoughts, show their emotions, and make choices without fear of judgment, that’s when the seed of integrity is quietly sown.

Integrity is not about perfection; it is the consistency between what we think, what we say, and what we do. It can be the moment of pausing before taking an inappropriate action, making a fair choice in a game, or showing respect for common rules even when no one is watching.

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, we believe that integrity thrives best in a trustworthy and fair environment. When adults keep their promises, act sincerely, and are consistent in their actions, children will naturally learn integrity through daily observation and experience.

The school believes that when families and schools work together to nurture this value, children will grow up with a strong inner self, knowing how to respect themselves and having the courage to choose what is right - even when no one is watching.

Integrity is the quiet foundation that helps each child walk steadily on their journey to adulthood, starting with inner peace.

HIGHLIGHT SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

HIP HOP AT THE WOLF HOUSE - UNLEASH YOUR VIBE, IGNITE THE ENERGY

At The Wolf House, Hip Hop is more than just dancing - it’s a language for our little ones to express their true selves.
Every step and every move is packed with energy, helping our "mini dancers" improve flexibility, find their rhythm, and spread positive vibes. Through upbeat music and dynamic movements, the Little Wolves not only learn body control but also build rock-solid confidence when performing in front of a crowd.

GROWING UP IN GREEN SPACES AT SEDBERGH VIETNAM - CVK

Scientific research has shown that exposure to nature from early childhood has a significant impact on children’s physical health, cognitive development, and behavior. A study conducted in Belgium even found that regular contact with green spaces can lead to noticeable improvements in children’s IQ levels.

Understanding this, Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK designs its learning programme around a wide range of nature-based experiences, including natural grass fields, sand play areas, the CVK garden, a water park, and a swimming pool. These spaces form a true “outdoor classroom,” where children are encouraged to explore freely and learn through their own eyes, hands, and hearts - within a safe, inspiring environment filled with natural light.

INDOOR PLAYGROUND - A NEW MULTI-DIMENSIONAL LEARNING SPACE AT SEDBERGH VIETNAM - CVK

In the early years of life, guided play is widely recognized as a foundational element. In the early years of life, guided play is regarded as a vital foundation for children’s holistic development, particularly during the critical stages of emotional and brain development.

In the 2025-2026 academic year, Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK has introduced a number of meaningful enhancements. Among them, the new indoor playground stands out as a key area of investment. Through activities such as physical movement, climbing, balancing, and interaction, children develop both gross and fine motor skills, strengthen spatial awareness, improve concentration, and build the ability to self-regulate their emotions.

A purposefully designed play space does more than bring joy - it lays a strong foundation for children’s confidence and a positive learning mindset during their formative years.

With the January theme “Optimism”, our Little Wolves embarked on a meaningful journey to nurture positive emotions and a bright mindset. Through the play “The Journey of a Raindrop”, the children learned that even when they feel sad or face challenges, things can get better when they keep believing, sharing, and never giving up.

Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK believes that character education becomes more meaningful when children can experience it for themselves. A series of themed activities such as the Emotion Box, Blow away the Sadness, Joy puzzles, and the Happy dance helped our little Wolves explore their emotions, understand themselves better, stay calm when feeling upset, and spread happiness to their friends.

WELLBEING DAY - JANUARY: SPREADING THE SPIRIT OF OPTIMISM WITH OUR LITTLE WOLVES

A GREEN LIFESTYLE NURTURED BY A TRULY GREEN SCHOOL

In the early years, the learning environment plays a vital role in shaping a child’s thinking, language, emotions, and habits. At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, with 65% of the campus covered in greenery, children grow up surrounded by nature and natural light - a true “nature classroom” where they observe, explore, and develop both their thinking skills and their love for the natural world.

Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK is proud of 3 consecutive years of green initiatives, with at least 1 hour of environmental education each week and an average of 3 projects every school year, through which our little Wolves gradually develop and nurture a green lifestyle in the most natural and meaningful way.

A cheerful “Ya!” echoed out, marking the start of an exciting Taekwondo session for our little Wolf warriors. On the mat, the children eagerly lined up, focused on their warm-up, and bravely tried their first kicks and punches - serious yet utterly adorable.

As part of Sport Day week, the Taekwondo activity introduced the little Wolves to this globally popular martial art through familiar elements such as uniforms, belt colors, and basic movements. Each exercise not only helped build strength and flexibility but also encouraged the children to listen carefully, remember instructions, and follow guidance. Practicing alongside friends and teachers, the young “warriors” gradually developed self-confidence, discipline, and a genuine joy in every movement - a small experience, but full of positive energy.

A DAY AS LITTLE FOOTBALLERS WITH MOM & DAD

The whistle blew, and the CVK field came alive as our little footballers stepped onto the pitch for their very first match - proudly accompanied by Mom and Dad. With loving support by their side, the children excitedly chased the ball, playing with all the innocence, joy, and determination of their early years.

Wobbly steps and gentle kicks turned into the sweetest moments of the day, warmly cheered on by families from the sidelines. The playful sound of horns, along with colorful flags and banners waving in the breeze, filled the field with laughter and festive energy.

As part of our themed “Sport Day” week, CVK “Mini Football Fun” gave children the chance to explore football, build physical strength and confidence, and most importantly, create heartwarming family memories - where parents and children shared smiles, teamwork, and joyful moments of growing up together at Wolf House.

The moment our little “athletes” proudly marched in with the “Olympic torch” and lit the flame with the Principal officially marked the start of CVK Sports Day - a joyful occasion where each child stepped onto their own playground with bright eyes, excitement, and pride.

Sports Day came to a close with lovely medals pinned to the chests of our children - a heartfelt recognition of their efforts, their confidence to try, and their first steps on the journey of nurturing a love for sports.

SPORT DAY - A JOYFUL SPORTS DAY FOR OUR LITTLE WOLVES

Amid the excitement of a miniature archaeological excavation, mysterious coded messages, ancient symbols, and fossil traces guided the Little Wolves’ “junior archaeologists” into Dinosaur Discovery Week - an immersive journey back in time to explore the fascinating prehistoric world.

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, we believe that although the dinosaur excavation has come to an end, the spirit of discovery continues within each young archaeologist. Every clue deciphered and every discovery made today becomes a seed-nurturing curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning, accompanying children on their enduring journey of knowledge exploration.

FEATURED LEARNING ACTIVITIES

GARDENING CLASS OF LADYBUG 3

In this week's gardening class, the children of Ladybug 3 went to the school garden to continue caring for the young plants that had been sown during previous lessons. The kids were excited to water the plants, pull weeds around the beds, and observe the changes in the green sprouts growing each day.

Under the gentle guidance of their teacher, the students practiced careful plant care, learning patience and the importance of waiting as the plants develop. The atmosphere of the class was joyful and close to nature, helping the children develop an awareness of environmental protection while also enhancing their observation skills and sense of responsibility.

The gardening class is a weekly activity that provides CVK students with practical, meaningful experiences in a relaxed setting.

WRITING INTRODUCTION CLASS OF BUTTERFLY 1

The writing introduction class for Butterfly 1 was lively, focusing on the exploration of the letter "i" through a series of fun learning games. Instead of just observing and memorizing, the children interacted directly with the letter in various engaging ways.

Students listened for the sound of the letter "i," searched for it in picture cards, participated in letter recognition games, and combined movement with learning. Each activity was designed to be brief and dynamic, allowing the children to absorb knowledge in a relaxed and natural way.

Through the playful approach of "learning while playing," the writing introduction class not only helped students effectively remember the letter but also sparked their interest, confidence, and love for learning letters from the very beginning.

DINOSAUR FOSSIL CREATION ACTIVITY IN DRAGONFLY 1 CLASS

In the classroom, the students work in groups to collect and arrange dinosaur fossils according to the provided models. After completing their collections, they fill out a simple report by copying the name of the dinosaur based on the fossil they found, noting its size, and drawing it using the classroom poster as a guide.

This activity not only helps the students develop their collaboration skills but also ignites their curiosity about the world of dinosaurs. They eagerly exchange ideas and support each other in every step, from identifying the fossils to completing their drawings. The classroom atmosphere becomes lively as they discuss and explore new knowledge together, creating memorable experiences throughout their learning journey.

UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASS IN SEA TURTLE

In the science class, students participated in an exciting activity that combined exploring natural elements with practicing English. They used leaves, twigs, and sand to create a simulated environment for dinosaurs.

While engaging in this activity, they learned about different types of dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops, and expanded their vocabulary related to their body parts such as legs, heads, and tails. The students also discussed the diets of these dinosaurs, ranging from carnivorous to herbivorous, as well as their habitats, from dense forests to deserts.

This activity not only helped them explore the world of dinosaurs but also improved their English skills in a dynamic and engaging way.
