Leadership Team

Dear Teachers, Parents, and Beloved Students,

January brings the start of a new year filled with fresh and exciting beginnings. It is also a meaningful time for us to spread the spirit of optimism - a vital quality that helps children embrace the world with a positive outlook, confidence, and hope.

For kindergarten children, optimism is not about always being right or always succeeding. It is about having the courage to try, to try again, and to keep smiling while learning something new. When children are encouraged, listened to, and recognized for their efforts, they gradually learn to see every experience as an opportunity for growth.

At school, we create a safe, loving, and positive learning environment where children can explore at their own pace, receive support when facing challenges, and share the joy of every small achievement. The encouraging words, trusting glances, and patient guidance from adults form the essential foundation for nurturing a child's optimistic spirit.

The school believes that when families and the school work hand in hand, children will grow up with confidence, a love of learning, and the ability to view the world through positive eyes.

Optimism is the most meaningful gift we can give at the start of the year - one that helps children begin each day with joy, curiosity, and the belief that they can do anything.

With warm regards,
The School Leadership Team

NEWS &
UPDATES

SMALL SMILES - BIG OPTIMISM

For kindergarten children, optimism begins with a simple smile and the feeling of being loved. When children are encouraged and supported, they learn to greet each day with joy and curiosity.

At school, we nurture optimism through everyday moments: Whether it is their first attempt or a challenge not yet completed, hearing “You're trying your best, and that's wonderful.” teaches children to stay positive and try again.

We believe that when families and the school walk together, children grow up confident, joyful in learning, and optimistic about the world around them.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS - BACK TO SCHOOL
WITH A SMILE

A long holiday is precious time for children to rest, enjoy family moments, and recharge their energy. However, for kindergarten children, changes in routine can make the return to school feel a little unfamiliar. That's why thoughtful preparation from home plays such an important role in helping children transition smoothly and settle in comfortably.

CVK encourages parents to maintain a relatively consistent daily rhythm during the break - reasonable times for sleeping, eating, and playing - while also creating opportunities for children to stay active and join family activities. In the days before returning to class, sharing positive stories about teachers, friends, and fun school moments will help children feel secure and excited to come back.

When school resumes, every child adapts at their own pace. Patience, empathy, and gentle words of encouragement from adults will help them settle quickly, feel safe, and truly enjoy being back at school.

Careful preparation today allows children to fully enjoy their holiday and return to school feeling confident, cheerful, and ready to learn.

A LITTLE WARMTH GOES A LONG WAY FOR HEALTH

As the seasons change, cooler weather and higher humidity can make kindergarten children more susceptible to colds, respiratory issues, or simply feeling tired. This is why taking gentle, thoughtful care of their health right now matters so much.

We encourage parents to dress children in layers that keep them warm without restricting movement - paying special attention to protecting the neck and chest - and to adjust clothing as temperatures shift during the day. Along with that, plenty of sleep, balanced meals, and warm drinks all help strengthen their natural immunity.

At CVK, we provide a clean, well-ventilated, and safe environment where children wash hands regularly, enjoy gentle indoor and outdoor activities suited to the weather, and always receive caring attention from teachers if they feel under the weather.

When home and school work together, our children can move through this winter-to-spring transition feeling healthy, secure, and full of energy for every happy day at school.

PROTECTING YOUR CHILD’S HEALTH THROUGH THE SMALLEST EVERYDAY ACTIONS

Our children's health is always the top priority for both the school and families. With the changing seasons, the risk of dengue fever can go up if we don't keep our surroundings under control. That's why taking proactive steps to prevent illness is the most genuine and lasting way to show our love for them.

At CVK, we focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and airy learning environment. We regularly check the campus and do everything we can to eliminate potential mosquito breeding spots. Alongside that, the kids learn simple, age-appropriate hygiene and health habits through fun, everyday activities.

We'd really appreciate your continued support at home: keep an eye on your child's health, maintain a tidy living space, and get them checked by a doctor right away if they show signs like high fever, unusual tiredness, or prolonged fussiness.

CVK truly believes that when school and families team up with the right care, our kids will grow up healthy, safe, and full of confidence - ready to learn, play, and thrive in a loving environment.

LOOKING BACK ON OUR LITTLE ONES’ GROWTH JOURNEY THIS FIRST SEMESTER

The Parent - Teacher Meeting for the first term was an opportunity for parents and teachers to come together, listen, and gain deeper insight into each child’s journey of growth. Through small stories about children’s behavior, habit formation, and learning progress, a comprehensive picture of our little angels’ development throughout the past semester at Nhà Sói gradually came into focus.
At the same time, the meeting created a warm and open space for families and teachers to share, connect, and together shape meaningful goals for the children’s journey ahead. This is the foundation for Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK to continue nurturing little ones with love, supporting their growth, and inspiring a joyful spirit of curiosity each day.

In the early years, character education is not shaped by lessons alone, but by everyday emotional experiences and acts of sharing.

With December’s theme - Caring, our little Wolves continue their journey of nurturing Body - Mind - Heart through meaningful, connection-filled activities. The children watched the play The Little Match Girl, stepped into the role of Santa’s helpers, gently passed along gifts, rescued animals trapped in ice, colored pictures, and created surprise Christmas cards. In every small challenge, they practiced caring for others, taking turns with patience, and bringing joy to those around them.

Wellbeing Day is a part of the Character Education in Action programme at Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, where positive values are nurtured naturally through lived experiences. From these simple yet emotionally rich moments, children begin to form hearts that know how to love, care, and confidently spread kindness to their community.

SMALL CREATIONS - BIG EXPERIENCES OF
OUR CHILDREN IN SEMESTER I

Each creation tells its own story, reflecting the curiosity, joy of exploration, and continuous effort of our children at Nhà Sói during the past term. From observing, measuring, and arranging to freely expressing their ideas, every piece showcases the children’s thinking, creativity, and focus, while capturing moments of confidence as they complete their work.

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, each creation is not just an “assignment,” but also a small step in the journey of learning through experience and growing every day.

A healthy body is the first essential foundation for children to grow up holistically. Developing motor skills and physical fitness from an early age lays a strong base for both physical and mental growth in the years ahead.

The themed project week “Sport Day” at Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, held from December 22 - 26, is an opportunity for the Wolf House children to move freely, build stamina, and explore the spirit of sports from an early age. With a variety of fun activities - from learning about sports culture around the world to taking part in playful sports with friends and parents - children not only strengthen their bodies but also develop teamwork and gain confidence every day.

Every game and physical activity is a step forward for children to discover their own abilities and grow holistically - where physical strength, intellect, and emotions all develop together each day.

FEATURED LEARNING ACTIVITIES

TOUCH TO FEEL - LEARN TO EXPLORE WITH DRAGONFLY 2

In the "Understanding the World" lesson, the Dragonfly 2 students and their teacher explored how different surfaces feel to the touch, including fabric, tree bark, grass, sand, foam, and more.

The children gently touched each surface with their fingertips, closed their eyes to focus on the sensations, giggled when they felt the rough texture of tree bark, smiled at the cool smoothness of sand, and described the soft fluffiness of cotton wool.

Through this hands-on experience, the young learners developed their sense of touch, expanded their vocabulary, and happily discovered that the world around them is full of wonderful sensations.

DESIGNING MODELS WITH LEGO - BUILDING A GREEN PARK (BUTTERFLY 2)

In this hands-on learning activity, the children from Butterfly 2 class worked together to assemble LEGO pieces and design models of a green park. Using colorful LEGO bricks, the kids let their imaginations run wild, creating lush green spaces filled with trees, pathways, and playground areas.

This activity helped the young learners develop spatial thinking, hand-eye coordination, teamwork skills, and an early awareness of environmental protection.

LEARNING ROAD SAFETY - BEE 3 CLASS

Through engaging and interactive activities, the children in Bee 3 class eagerly participated in learning about road traffic safety using fun games and relatable simulated scenarios. During the session, the kids became familiar with traffic lights, zebra crossings, and basic road signs, while practicing proper walking skills and how to follow traffic rules.

This activity helps the young learners build awareness of obeying traffic laws, sharpen their observation skills, and enhance their safety abilities when out on the road with adults.
