At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, we believe that gratitude is one of the most important values to nurture from a child’s earliest years. Gratitude helps children recognize the good things around them, appreciate the care and kindness of others, and build positive relationships.

This month, our learning community is coming together to spread the spirit of gratitude - gratitude for family, teachers, friends, and the world around us. Through daily activities, meaningful stories, classroom lessons, and hands-on experiences, children are encouraged to say “thank you,” express appreciation, and discover the joy of giving and sharing love.

Gratitude not only helps children become polite and respectful, but also nurtures empathy, happiness, and the inner strength they need to grow with confidence and compassion. A child who learns gratitude today will become a kind and responsible adult in the future.

We would also like to sincerely thank our parents for your trust and partnership in this meaningful journey of nurturing happy and caring young learners. The strong connection between home and school creates a loving foundation where children can grow surrounded by positive values.

SCHOOL HEALTHCARE – HEALTH, NUTRITION AND DISEASE PREVENTION

CHILD HEALTH CARE DURING
HOT WEATHER

High environmental temperatures can increase the risk of dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, heat exhaustion, gastrointestinal infections, respiratory illnesses, and skin irritation in young children, as their body temperature regulation systems are not yet fully developed. To help protect children’s health during hot weather, we kindly ask parents to take note of the following recommendations:
Medical Recommendations
- Encourage regular hydration: Offer children water frequently throughout the day instead of waiting until they feel thirsty. Increase fruits rich in water and natural electrolytes.
- Limit sun exposure: Avoid outdoor activities between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, when UV levels and temperatures are at their highest.
- Choose appropriate clothing: Dress children in lightweight cotton clothing that absorbs sweat and keeps the body cool and comfortable.
- Ensure food safety: Serve freshly cooked food and avoid leaving food at room temperature for extended periods.
- Maintain personal hygiene: Encourage bathing after physical activities and frequent handwashing to reduce the risk of infections.
- Ensure adequate sleep: Proper rest helps strengthen the immune system and supports physical recovery.

NUTRITION AND FOOD SAFETY FOR CHILDREN DURING HOT WEATHER

Hot weather can cause dehydration, loss of appetite, digestive problems, and a higher risk of food poisoning in children due to rapid bacterial growth in high temperatures. Therefore, proper nutrition and food safety should be given special attention.
1. Proper Nutrition During Hot Weather
-Encourage children to drink enough water throughout the day.
-Provide light, easy-to-digest meals with less oily food.
-Increase green vegetables and fresh fruits to support immunity and digestion.
-Choose healthy protein sources such as fish, eggs, lean meat, and tofu.
-Limit sugary drinks and carbonated beverages.
Warning Signs to Monitor
Allow children to rest and seek medical attention if they show signs such as fever, extreme fatigue, excessive thirst, dry lips, reduced urination, vomiting, diarrhea, persistent cough, skin rashes, or unusual drowsiness.

School - Parent Collaboration
The school will continue adjusting outdoor activities, providing sufficient drinking water, maintaining environmental hygiene, and monitoring children’s health daily.

Proper care during hot weather helps children maintain good physical health, strengthen their immunity, and participate effectively in learning activities.
2. Food Safety Guidelines
-Ensure food is thoroughly cooked and consumed soon after preparation.
-Store food at proper temperatures and reheat leftovers thoroughly before reuse.
-Wash fruits and vegetables carefully with clean water.
-Keep raw and cooked foods separate to prevent cross-contamination.
-Wash hands with soap before preparing food and before meals.

3. Warning Signs to Watch For
Seek medical attention if children experience vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, fever, loss of appetite, or unusual fatigue.

A healthy diet and safe food practices help children stay strong, boost immunity, and adapt better during hot weather.

PHÒNG NGỪA VI RÚT ROTA

Với trẻ mầm non, sức khỏe hệ tiêu hóa là nền tảng để con vui chơi, học hỏi và phát triển mỗi ngày. Trong đó, vi rút Rota là một trong những nguyên nhân phổ biến gây tiêu chảy cấp ở trẻ nhỏ, dễ lây lan và ảnh hưởng nhiều đến thể trạng nếu không được phòng ngừa đúng cách.

Phòng bệnh cho trẻ bắt đầu từ sự chủ động của người lớn. Tiêm vắc-xin Rota sớm chính là bước bảo vệ quan trọng đầu tiên, giúp trẻ giảm nguy cơ mắc bệnh và hạn chế các biến chứng nguy hiểm. Song song đó, những thói quen quen thuộc hằng ngày như rửa tay sạch, ăn chín uống sôi, vệ sinh đồ dùng và đồ chơi của trẻ lại chính là “lá chắn” bền bỉ nhất cho sức khỏe con.

Một môi trường sống sạch sẽ, nguồn nước an toàn, cùng chế độ dinh dưỡng đầy đủ - đặc biệt là sữa mẹ trong những năm đầu đời - sẽ giúp trẻ tăng sức đề kháng tự nhiên. Việc hạn chế cho trẻ tiếp xúc nơi đông người trong thời điểm nhạy cảm cũng góp phần giảm nguy cơ lây nhiễm qua đường tiêu hóa.

Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK tin rằng, khi gia đình và nhà trường cùng đồng hành trong việc chăm sóc sức khỏe từ những điều nhỏ nhất, các con sẽ được lớn lên khỏe mạnh - an toàn - an tâm khám phá thế giới mỗi ngày.

BỮA ĂN AN TOÀN – TẾT ĐOÀN VIÊN

Một mùa Tết trọn vẹn không chỉ bắt đầu từ niềm vui sum họp, mà còn từ những bữa ăn an toàn, lành mạnh mỗi ngày. Khi được chăm sóc đúng cách trong từng bữa ăn, trẻ có đủ năng lượng để vui chơi, khám phá và tận hưởng trọn vẹn không khí đầu năm mới.

Dịp Tết, thực phẩm thường được chuẩn bị nhiều hơn, bảo quản lâu hơn và sử dụng lặp lại qua nhiều bữa. Chỉ một sơ suất nhỏ trong khâu vệ sinh, chế biến hay bảo quản cũng có thể làm tăng nguy cơ ngộ độc thực phẩm, đặc biệt đối với trẻ nhỏ - đối tượng có hệ tiêu hóa còn non nớt.

Từ những thói quen quen thuộc như ăn chín - uống sôi, rửa tay sạch trước khi ăn, tách riêng thực phẩm sống và chín, đến việc lựa chọn thực phẩm có nguồn gốc rõ ràng và hâm nóng kỹ thức ăn, mỗi hành động nhỏ của người lớn đều góp phần bảo vệ sức khỏe cho trẻ.

Nhà trường tin rằng, khi gia đình và nhà trường cùng chung tay xây dựng thói quen ăn uống an toàn, các con sẽ được đón một mùa Tết an yên - khỏe mạnh - đầy ắp niềm vui, làm nền tảng cho một năm mới khởi đầu tích cực và trọn vẹn.

LÒNG CHÍNH TRỰC – BÌNH YÊN KHI ĐƯỢC LÀ CHÍNH MÌNH

Lòng chính trực không bắt đầu từ những lời dạy lớn lao, mà khởi nguồn từ cảm giác an tâm khi mỗi người được là chính mình. Khi một đứa trẻ biết rằng mình có thể nói ra suy nghĩ, thể hiện cảm xúc và đưa ra lựa chọn mà không sợ bị phán xét, đó chính là lúc hạt mầm chính trực âm thầm được gieo xuống.

Chính trực không phải là sự hoàn hảo, mà là sự nhất quán giữa điều ta nghĩ, điều ta nói và điều ta làm. Đó có thể là khoảnh khắc biết dừng lại trước một hành động chưa phù hợp, là sự lựa chọn công bằng trong trò chơi, hay là thái độ tôn trọng những quy ước chung dù không có ai nhắc nhở.

Tại Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, chúng tôi tin rằng lòng chính trực được nuôi dưỡng tốt nhất trong một môi trường tin cậy và công bằng. Khi người lớn giữ lời hứa, cư xử chân thành và nhất quán trong hành động, trẻ sẽ học được chính trực một cách tự nhiên thông qua quan sát và trải nghiệm mỗi ngày.

HIGHLIGHT SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Carefully tied ropes, thoughtfully colored and decorated pieces… little “bases” gradually came to life across the Wolf House. As part of the Little Adventurers Camp, our young explorers worked together to build their own class bases, share joyful moments, enjoy delicious treats, and eagerly take on a series of refreshing water challenges. 

Not just about fun, the annual camping activity at Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK is thoughtfully designed to support children’s holistic development across key domains: language and communication, exploration and discovery, physical development, and social-emotional growth. Through hands-on and interactive experiences, children gradually build confidence, independence, and collaboration skills. This serves as an essential foundation for them to develop their individual potential, adapt to new environments, and explore the world in their own unique way.

LITTLE ADVENTURERS CAMP: EVERY CHILD,
A BRAVE LITTLE EXPLORER

DISCOVERING UNDERWATER FRIENDS WITH BEE 1 CLASS 

The ocean is full of wonders that naturally spark children’s curiosity. In the Understanding the world lesson, Bee 1 students were introduced to two familiar sea creatures - octopus and shrimp - through a series of engaging, multi-sensory activities.

-Touch and guess the animal, helping children begin to recognize objects through their sense of touch.
-Observe the octopus’s tentacles and other body parts, while learning about its habitat.
-Identify and remember familiar animals using flashcards.
-Join the game “Catch the Shrimp and Octopus” in the water pool, developing observation skills and reflexes.

WHEN A LEAF BECOMES YOUR CHILD’S FIRST “LAB” 

For young children, science does not begin with textbooks - it starts with curiosity, in little hands eager to explore and eyes ready to ask questions

In the journey of discovering how grass jelly leaves transform and set, Butterfly 2 students engaged in a series of hands-on activities - each designed as a first “touchpoint” with scientific thinking:
-Observing objects through a magnifying glass, noticing fine details
-Measuring and pouring water with tools, exploring early concepts of measurement and logic
-Crushing leaves and filtering liquid, developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
-Waiting for the mixture to set, building patience and observing changes over time

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, each science lesson opens up an experiential journey where children directly observe and experiment with a variety of materials and phenomena. Through a series of hands-on activities, children are nurtured and supported in developing key domains such as Language and communication, Understanding the world, Mathematical thinking, and Social-emotional skills in a natural, age-appropriate way

SYMMETRICAL PIECES OF BUTTERFLY 3 CLASS

“Symmetry is when both sides of an image are identical - like a mirror reflection. From lines to colors, everything is repeated across a central line called the axis of symmetry.” From what may seem like an abstract concept, Butterfly 3 students engaged in a series of hands-on, visually rich experiences to explore symmetry:

-Observing images and identifying symmetrical patterns
-Carefully drawing and coloring to complete symmetrical pictures
-Engaging in learning stations: arranging objects, finding and matching symmetrical pairs

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, concepts are embedded in meaningful, multi-sensory experiences that allow children to absorb knowledge naturally. Through these activities, students develop across key areas - including Understanding the world, Mathematical thinking, Communication & language, and Creative expression - while strengthening observation skills and aesthetic awareness from an early age.

This April, our little Wolves took part in a series of exciting activities centered around the theme of teamwork and collaboration. Through challenges such as rolling over carts, hoops passing, ball balancing, blindfold obstacle courses, and the “telephone game,” the children gradually learned how to listen, cooperate, and support one another in order to achieve a shared goal.

From the focused expressions as they worked side by side with teammates to the joyful cheers after overcoming each challenge, the children began to realize that the most meaningful part was not simply the result, but the journey of trying, sharing, and growing together with their friends.

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, we believe that through monthly Wellbeing Day activities, children are not only encouraged to play and stay active, but also given opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility, and the ability to work collaboratively with others from an early age.

More than just a concept, a “happy school” was brought into PD Day by the CVK teaching team as a clear, actionable direction within each classroom.

Through a series of collaborative sessions, teachers worked together to “decode” what happiness in education truly means, and in doing so, clarified the role each individual plays in creating a positive learning environment. These shared insights were translated into concrete actions: strengthening connections with students, refining classroom practices, and establishing systems for ongoing monitoring and evaluation. As a result, building a happy school is not merely aspirational - it becomes measurable and sustainable over time.

While PD Day has come to a close, the journey toward a “Happy School” at Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK continues, starting with small, meaningful changes each day in every classroom, led by every teacher.

A LITTLE GLIMPSE INTO THE SUMMER OF DISCOVERY AT SEDBERGH VIETNAM - CVK

The Experience Day at Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK brought children a day filled with joy and discovery, where the wonders of the ocean came to life through a series of exciting, play-based activities.

From delightful performances by Sedbergh Vietnam students to interactive games such as rescuing marine animals, exploring the ocean through an immersive tunnel, and taking on fun physical challenges, the programme created opportunities for children to play, observe, and learn in the most natural way.

This is just the beginning - there’s so much more to uncover in “Summer of Discovery at CVK: From Ocean to future explorers”. We can’t wait to see our little explorers this summer!

GOLDEN BELL CHALLENGE 2026: EVERY QUESTION, A STEP TOWARD GROWTH

Every question was an opportunity for our little ones to learn how to think, listen, and confidently share their own answers. This year’s Golden Bell Challenge was filled with memorable moments - from excitement and anticipation to laughter and joy.

One of the most special highlights this year was the “parent rescue” activity, where parents not only cheered from the audience but also joined their children in overcoming challenges together. Their presence brought even more excitement, encouragement, and heartwarming moments to the experience.

At Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, we believe that children learn best through meaningful hands-on experiences. Through activities like the Golden Bell Challenge, our little Wolves not only reinforce what they have learned, but also naturally develop important areas such as Language & Communication, Mathematical Thinking, Understanding the World, and Social-Emotional Development - while building confidence and a willingness to try from an early age.

PLAY-BASED LEARNING - HOW LEGO OPENS UP A WORLD OF THINKING FOR CHILDREN

In modern early childhood education, research has shown that children learn most effectively through play - when curiosity is guided naturally rather than imposed.

With LEGO building activities, each experience is not merely entertainment, but a multi-layered learning process:
- Understanding the world from the smallest elements - recognizing shapes, sizes, and spatial relationships as the foundation of mathematical and scientific thinking.
- Developing logical thinking by figuring out how to connect pieces and build complete structures.
- Learning through trial and adjustment, gradually building perseverance and adaptability.
- Expressing creativity freely, turning personal ideas into unique creations.

Colorful drawings, free-flowing shapes, and handmade creations are more than just fun activities - they are meaningful ways for children aged 3-6 to explore the world and discover themselves.

Research in early childhood education shows that art helps develop observation skills, visual thinking, imagination, and the ability to express emotions naturally. Through creative freedom, children not only learn to “create beauty” but also begin to understand their preferences, how they feel, and how to express themselves in their own unique way.

Did you know that chess is not only an engaging game, but also a powerful tool to help children aged 4- 6 develop thinking skills and concentration from an early age?

In the after-school extracurricular chess class at Sedbergh Vietnam - CVK, children are not only introduced to each chess piece but also gradually build their thinking and focus through engaging, age-appropriate activities:
- Observing and distinguishing chess pieces through their shapes, colors, and roles
- Learning basic movements of each piece through interactive games
- Playing with teachers, practicing turn-taking, following rules, and making decisions

GIỜ HỌC LÀM VƯỜN LỚP LADYBUG 3 

Trong giờ học làm vườn tuần này, các bạn nhỏ lớp Ladybug 3 cùng nhau ra khu vườn của trường để tiếp tục chăm sóc những cây non đã được gieo trồng từ các buổi học trước. Các bé hào hứng tưới nước cho cây, nhổ cỏ xung quanh luống trồng và quan sát sự thay đổi của từng mầm xanh đang lớn lên mỗi ngày.

Dưới sự hướng dẫn nhẹ nhàng của giáo viên, học sinh thực hành các thao tác chăm sóc cây một cách cẩn thận, học cách chờ đợi và kiên nhẫn trong quá trình cây phát triển. Không khí giờ học diễn ra vui tươi, gần gũi với thiên nhiên, giúp các bé hình thành ý thức bảo vệ môi trường, đồng thời phát triển kỹ năng quan sát và tinh thần trách nhiệm.

Giờ học làm vườn là hoạt động được tổ chức định kỳ hàng tuần, mang đến cho học sinh tại CVK những trải nghiệm học tập thực tế, nhẹ nhàng nhưng giàu ý nghĩa.

GIỜ HỌC LÀM QUEN CHỮ VIẾT LỚP BUTTERFLY 1 

Giờ học làm quen chữ viết của lớp Butterfly 1 diễn ra sôi nổi với hành trình khám phá con chữ “i” thông qua chuỗi trò chơi học tập vui nhộn. Thay vì chỉ quan sát và ghi nhớ, các bé được tương tác trực tiếp với con chữ bằng nhiều hình thức khác nhau.

Học sinh cùng lắng nghe âm của chữ “i”, tìm chữ trong các thẻ hình, tham gia trò chơi nhận diện chữ và vận động kết hợp học tập. Mỗi hoạt động đều được thiết kế ngắn gọn, sinh động, giúp các bé tiếp thu kiến thức một cách nhẹ nhàng và tự nhiên.

Thông qua cách tiếp cận học mà chơi - chơi mà học, giờ làm quen chữ viết không chỉ giúp học sinh ghi nhớ con chữ hiệu quả mà còn khơi gợi sự hứng thú, tự tin và niềm yêu thích với việc học chữ ngay từ những bước đầu tiên.

HOẠT ĐỘNG TẠO HÌNH XƯƠNG KHỦNG LONG TẠI LỚP DRAGONFLY 1 

Trong lớp học, các em học sinh làm việc theo nhóm để thu thập và sắp xếp các hóa thạch khủng long theo mô hình đã được hướng dẫn. Sau khi hoàn thành việc thu thập, các em sẽ điền vào một báo cáo đơn giản bằng cách sao chép tên khủng long dựa trên hóa thạch đã tìm thấy, ghi chú kích thước và vẽ hình nó bằng cách sử dụng bức tranh hướng dẫn từ lớp học.

Hoạt động này không chỉ giúp các em rèn luyện kỹ năng hợp tác mà còn khơi dậy sự tò mò về thế giới khủng long. Các em hăng say trao đổi ý tưởng và hỗ trợ nhau trong từng bước thực hiện, từ việc xác định hóa thạch cho đến cả việc hoàn thiện bản vẽ. Không khí lớp học trở nên sôi nổi khi các em cùng nhau thảo luận và khám phá những kiến thức mới, tạo nên những ký ức đáng nhớ trong quá trình học tập.

GIỜ HỌC KHOA HỌC VÀ NGÔN NGỮ TIẾNG ANH Ở LỚP SEA TURTLE

Trong lớp học khoa học, học sinh đã tham gia vào một hoạt động thú vị kết hợp giữa việc khám phá các yếu tố tự nhiên và rèn luyện tiếng Anh. Các em đã sử dụng lá cây, nhánh cây và cát để tạo ra một môi trường mô phỏng cho những loài khủng long. 

Trong khi thực hiện, các em được tìm hiểu về các loại khủng long như Tyrannosaurus Rex và Triceratops, đồng thời học từ vựng về các bộ phận cơ thể của chúng như chân, đầu và đuôi. Các em cũng thảo luận về chế độ ăn uống của những loài này, từ ăn thịt tới ăn thực vật, và cả môi trường sống của chúng, từ rừng rậm cho đến sa mạc. 

Hoạt động này không chỉ giúp các em khám phá thế giới khủng long mà còn cải thiện kỹ năng tiếng Anh một cách sinh động và hấp dẫn.
