For young children, a story is experienced through more than words alone. Melodies, images, sounds, and movements that follow the rhythm can all become part of the learning experience, allowing children to explore stories through multiple senses.
Research in early childhood music and storytelling shows that combining music, language, and interaction can support children’s memory, language development, and musical appreciation. Repetitive melodies and rhythms, together with listening and movement activities, also give children opportunities to become familiar with sounds, sense rhythm, and express their emotions naturally.
At Sedbergh Vietnam – CVK,“Musical Storytelling is a special learning session where stories come alive through melodies, images, sounds, and movement. Through songs, dialogue, and role-play, children are free to move, imitate sounds, and step into different characters. This multisensory experience supports the development of Language & Communication, Social-Emotional skills, imagination, and gradually nurtures their appreciation of music.
